That's what that second pin notch is for? Jesus, I thought they were both the same. I have good tension on my belt and everything lines up ok...should I be worried?

Well, I haven't started the motor yet sooo...I tried to forsee all of the harmful effects of a head swap, and I dont beleive mine's been shaved. Oh well....if it blows up, it blows up.

* Valves are 37mm intake/30mm exhaust
* Combustion chambers are full-concave
* 10mm passage drilled through head from front to back between
cylinders 2 and 3
* 3mm hole next to #3 intake port clear into coolant jacket
* Separate rocker and valve cover studs
please check the inlet ports. do they have the high swirl or straight inlet ports? also, are the ports the same diameter as the E16? check the combustion chamber volume if you can...

three possibilities...
1) it's out of an F310 or early pulsar, they had "A" part numbers, IIRC.
2) it's from a JDM (or at least non-american) engine, i think the japanese engines had different castings.
3) It's an actual warranty replacement engine. for simplicity's sake, they had the best of everything installed to cover all eventualities.
NOTE: i added the above info on the 52A to "the list"

Ports appear to be the same in diameter and design as the 33M; I wouldn't know the difference. What would I be looking for? The combustion chamber cc amounts to approximately 21cc. The valve heads are unshrouded; the chambers are full-dish, true hemi.

Pull the plugs and hand-crank the engine. If anything binds up, you got probs. Best of luck.

can you look straight down the port and see the valve stem? that's a straight port. if the port takes some kind of swirly bend wrapping around the valve stem, that's a swirl-port.

Ah, OK. It's the swirl port, just like the 33M. 52A has swirl ports.

I am about to put a E15ET head onto a E13 block. I am expecting to see small power gains due to the bigger valves and smaller combustion chamber. does anyone know where i can get a decent performance cam from?

That's very interesting Jim.
It must be an Australian market casting. We never had those here in the USA. I'd love to hear if there are any differences/advantages in the 25M head.
The last head that I know of is known in the Nissan Motorsport catalog as the "Fuel Injection" [or FI] head. These did not come on any US market Nissans. It also wears the 15M casting number, but that number is not visible on the outside of the head like the others. It can only be seen under the valve cover. This head is essentially the same as the Turbo head in every way, except that it is a "thinwall" casting, for normally aspirated use. My understanding is, that this is a European O.E. head, where emmisions are not as stringent as the US versions. These heads were sold through Nissan Motorsport [I bought three of them], but are now NLA [no longer available]. About five years ago,I actually bought the last "FI" head, and was told by Nissan Motorsport, that they now are selling actual Turbo heads. And I'll tell you, that the price went way up too!
I've got 15M FI head!
I didn't know this until I took a closer look to my head and it really is it. How valuable are these heads today???
