Ive got the same Prob

Ive got the same problem. All u have to do is get sumthin to hold the lever up and go lift the hood. I have to go jy searching for a new lever. Or if u have two ppl, u lift the lever and he'll lift the hood.

rip it open, scrap the release lever, and get hood pins

Why did I pick such a slow car?

heh..
hood pins are fun!

quite necissary when you hit dips in the car hard enough to make the hood not want to open anymore.

thye prybar is likely to leave marks, try 2 people.

1981 datsun 210. nothing interesting here...

I had this problem too, you need to pull the release and have someone pull up on the hood at the same time. go to the JY and get yourself another handle and cable assembly if that is in fact the problem. On mine, the little piece of plastic behind the handle that holds the cable to the dash was broken. So make sure the next one you get doesn't have any cracks or anything in it.

any info you can give us as to the sympyoms? does the releas pull really easy, but the hood doesn't open, is anything in the front end severely bent? did someone weld it shut? did the release break off under the dash?

this will allow us to help more.

If you can't open it no matter what, I'd break the grille and release the latch from there instead of f'ing up the hood.

I had that problem with my b12. my method was to roll the window down and get out of the car. pull the lever and give a good rap on the ds corner of the hood and it would pop open. other than that i have not a clue why it wont budge
