Do you find that your engine nearly seems to stall when you've got your electronic gadgets going, while you're in Drive and stopped at a light? (Fans, A/C, Lights, Defroster, Stereo, Windshield Wipers, Cig lighter etc...)
My '87 really rumbles when I have the car in drive and I stop at a light, but only when I have more than just the radio on. As soon as I turn something else on, such as the lights and especially the rear window defroster, the alternator seems to want to make the engine work so hard that the car's RPMs almost drop from about 680 to 600, where the engine rumbles like a ol' V8.
Anyone else find that these engines can't really run their electronics, or should I just spend some time and check/clean the battery contacts and such?
I'm just kind of curious, seeing as how small the engine is and all. I have to get out the ol' whipping stick everytime I drive at night to keep her going.
