CA18DET wanted

i've already listed in the classefied wanted section but i dont think everyone is gonna look there so i'll post here too. long story short i'm looking for a complete CA18DET and would prefer the ecu with it. dont car about the block but i care about the head and turbo most. post if you can help me out, or email or pm me. whatever you can do to get ahold of me thank you

btw, in case you're wondering i'm starting to get serious on the CA20DET idea which is why i'm asking for the engine

Check this thread. The guy that minute rice bought from is probably about the cheapest you'll find anywhere and I believe he still has some motors left.

No matter how you look at it, it won't be cheap to make a hybrid engine. Especially making a CA20E into a DOHC turbocharged engine. If it were me, I'd get the CA18DET bored and stroked to 2.0 liters. I found a place that will do the whole kit for $1,300. Click here and order a catalog for free.

well i already have the ca20e...and i was thinking of just rebuilding it and putting it in my pulsar...but i've always been interested in making it dohc...and figured if i can get a turbo to boot then cool. but i can live with just having the head from a ca18de also.

Send boost_boy a private message. He knows the guy selling those motors and can hook you up.

I know you already have the other motor. Just thinking about cost/benefit ratio. If cost is comparable to get the CA20 converted as it would be to stroke the CA18, it may be better to get the displacement on the CA18 increased. In the end you'd end up with a much stronger motor. If you can get the CA20 converted for cheap it would be a nice project.

Have you checked the aussy and new zealand sites? Guys down there have already done the conversion, CA20E to CA20DET.

yeah...all the ones i've found though are running like 9.5:1 comp with 12psi and blowing the motors up...i just want to leave the comp and turbo stock...although obviously they would change with the swap but not that radically

and i think i can do the swap for cheaper than getting a good ca18 bored and stroked.
