If you own a 87+ Pulsar, what muffler are you running? I got my Pacesetter header today and I am planning my new exhaust system. Random Technology lists a cat for the car and I already have 2 1/4" pipe from the cat back but the muffler is starting to rust out. The current muffler droned because of the open area behind the back seat.
If you have a performance muffler on an 87+ Pulsar, what kind is it and how is the sound? I don't want a droning muffler again but I do want performance.
i have a flow master muffler, it sounds not bad, havnt really heard it outside the car(it sounds completly different for some reason) but sounds not bad, what type of muffler did you have on before?
i just replyed cause i dont think there are too many other pulsars on this forum
i got an economy muffler for 42 bucks at minute muffler and it sounds great! probably just luck of the draw though. and it isn't at all performance enhancing. it went the whole winter and spring without a touch of rust though

i've got just a standard 2 inch cherrybomb with a 3 inch vibrant exhaust tip. it sounds really good, especially since im running straightpipe i found there was a noticable change in power too, more in the midrange than usual.
Run a flowmaster... 2- 2.25 inlet... Chop out the outlet and use a 3" pipe for the outlet... I think youll be pleased. Im running this on my 92 Sentra. And my friend has the same on his Neon.... Although the 2.0 in his sounds ALOT better.... For now

hmmm... if ur any good at welding u could cut ur old muffler up and put a pipe through it then it would look liek u have a muffler and a cat(cherry bomb). or if u really wanna be good cover the cherry bomb in the cats case. now all u gotta worry about is the sound

see here is the thing...i bought the car with no muffler. it has good pipe and i suppose the cat is ok. well i also bought it with no title cause it had been considered totaled so i have to go get it inspected to get a new title...so i have to visually have a cat and a muffler and it exits out the back. after that i plan to ditch the cat. but right now without the muffler it doesn't sound to bad. i have a few glasspacks and the old muffler from my chevy laying around but they're all to long...i only have like 16" in the back to play with...i found a Thrush glasspack though in Summit for $18.95 and its overall is 17", but thats with like 3 inch ends which get covered up one way or another so it'd all be a tight fit and work and i'll just clamp it for inspection and then after that i'll put it where the cat is then get a pipe out the back with a resonator tip...hot dog it works cool
