CA18DET Rulz!

Took my woman's car for a nice ride yesterday en-route to performing a bluebird SR20DET swap into a 1991 b13 and got a chance to open the car up with the big turbo and I can say this "Just sick". Since I had the windows up and letting the A/C keep me cool, I was driving pretty lightly (60-70mph) and totally pissing off people behind. Felt jumpy, jumped on the gas with the A/C and just blurred traffic at 12psi of boost. Car felt like the silver car felt at 15psi. I would say in the nissan world, the CA18DET is the best bang for the buck. Even the hybrid tranny is performing flawlessly. The car doesn't chirp no gears because traction from the helical LSD is showing it's ass and distributing the power evenly. Long live the CA18DET

Dude, you rock! I love looking at your car. My dad and I are prob'ly gonna end up putting the CA18 in his 1970 510. The L18 has seen better days... He's also tired of the manual choke and dealing with carbs. A turbo 510 should be fun! We'll keep ya posted. Oh, any advice?

Can I put a turbo in my non-turbo? Yes. The trunk is quite large.
Can I put a Supercharger in my Z31?Yes. You can probably put it next to the turbo.
Can I put a Z32/newer 300ZX/VG30DETT in my Z31? This one is iffy. You'd have to disassemble it to get it in the trunk.

Now that would be a waste of my money and time! I hate timing chains and I especially dislike the cheap valve train. I am very content with the performance that the 1.8 litre gives and would never abandon it to take a step back in technology.

SR's are overdone man. This is from someone who loves SE-R's.

Gotta give props to those who successfully beat their own path. Do you have a BABK? Sounds like your lady could use it.

I definitely love the VLSD on mine, even if it is old and worn out. It still beats open diff's hands down.

oops.. Real sorry man, read the other thread just now. Show that 8itch no mercy.

The way it looks, an SR20 might go in my NX, for F'd up Cali smog purposes. The 510 is still looking like CA18, my dad and I agree. The boost_boy has made some vaild points. Oh, the 510 was bought in like 74 for about 2 grand, my dad's had it for almost 30 years. He loves that thing...
