A little off topic but....

This is what's holding me up getting started on my B11 project. 1988 Pontiac Grand Am 2.0 liter SOHC turbo. It puts out 165hp stock but should put out quite a bit more when it's rebuilt. I've got this slated for a rebuild/mod after the B11 is done.

That's the original engine but the car is in San Diego while the head, cam carrier, valve cover, and turbo are here in San Anton'. Still trying to find the time and money to get out there, put it all together and drive it back.

Oh yeah, how many late 80's Grand Ams have you ever actually seen go fast. It's a sure bet there will be some surprised ricers in town when I get it back here. It's not much of a top end machine but it gets outa the hole nicely.

80's American turbo's get no love. I had a turbo Lebaron for my first car. It was something like 175hp 2.2liter. I had no idea how well it moved until I crashed it, and ended up with my mother's Sentra XE.
Looks like you have a really nice example there. Good luck.

A friend used to drive his mom's back in high school in 1988! Damn thing used to move! He used to race the honda accords and civics back then and laid waste to them quickly. He used to also smoke Maximas as well. Nice one "Myet" and I would make a definite keeper.

I read somewhere somebody called these "rare as hen's teeth." There's no way I'm getting rid of it. I would like to at least get 200-250hp out of it. It will require some serious bottom end work as the stock bottom isn't too strong and only rated to handle short bursts of 10psi. I'm sure it will be over a year before I get to building it up but it promises to be quite the sleeper when I'm done.
