My sentra hasnt been started in a while, shame on me i know but,
i started it up today and when i rev the engine over 1,000 rpm the exhuast spurts a rusty liquid. I looked at the exhaust pipe after the cat and its all rusted. So im gonna replace it soon. Im gonna put a Header, High Flow Cat and 2.5" Piping to my muffler.
How Much will this cost because i still have to change the timing belt, I would want to know if i can paint the timing belt cover and what should i paint it??? I was gonna do it, the airbox(after i cut it) and the valve cover in a blue with a dress up kit. I want a metallic coat how would i do this.Help Plz the exhaust is really got me angry
the E16 exhaust naturally rusts away after a period of time and the rusty liquid I'm thinking it's probably just condensation. When you get everything replaced, try to stick with stainless steel exhaust components. Even though it's more expensive, you won't have to keep replacing parts of your exhaust, so you actually save in the long run. As for the timing cover painting, I've never painted plastic before.

You can use Duplicolor Metalcast spraypaint on all your engine dress up stuff...its supposed to resist heat up to 500 degrees F, which you shouldn't reach anyways. It has a silver basecoat and a red, yellow, or blue topcoat to give an anodized look.
As far as exhaust is concerned, 2.5" is too big unless your motor is turbo'd, you'll end up losing power in the low end where it really counts. 2 and 1/4 is the most you should get.

Pacesetter makes a header for the E16 in regular black or chrome “armor coated” Those are about $240. S&S also makes a header similar to the Pacesetter (4-1 design) for about $180. Neither are exactly the best quality, but they’re far better than the restrictive and heavy stock manifold.
