There's no CA20DE! There's a CA20E, CA20D and a CA18ET mostly found in the 80's stanzas and 200sx cars. The CA20 has a weak bottom end for performance! The CA20E uses 8 spark plugs and wire. The CA18DE is a better engine.

Just for my edification, what does the E stand for? D is DOHC, T is turbo, S is carbureted, I is injected (those are all SFAIK), but E I don't have any idea about.

I think the "E" for MultiPort Fuel injection. "I" is alo fuel injected but throttle body and single injector. Ie., VG30i, GA16i, E16i (TBI)and VG30E, GA16DE both MFI.
Right, I got that part from CrazyMart's post. Now I'm just wondering what was used on the CA20D since it doesn't have a fuel system designation in the name.
