CA16DE internals

i was wondering how the internals are on the ca16de, is it setup the same as a GA16DE with the forged crank and rods? Igot the motor for free with the tranny, ecu and wiring harness. I was thinking about building it and dropping it in a b12 2-door.

The CA16DE is a tough little engine and should be alot of fun to drive in a B12. Making it more powerful won't be cheap since you'll have to get any internal mods custom made.

Our b12's never came with ca16de stock in the U.S. only the pulsar in 87 had it in the U.S.
SentraE: most likely Boost_boy would know more about the internal of a ca16de.

ok then. well, if you plan on putting the ca16de in your car, be prepared to pay a *lot* for parts. I paid over $200 for a power steering pump, remanufactured. they wanted $400 for a new ignition module but i got it out of a junkyard for $80. I suppose since there are fewer of the engine around, the parts are harder to come by... and mods are out of the question for me, cause they have to be custom made, which is megabucks.

Depends on your definition of megabucks. How about a stroker kit to take it up to 1.8l including stoked crank w/nickle chrome journals (glass peened, balanced), stroker pistons (ceramic top coat, knurled, balanced), and Deves rings for $1,300. You'd need to overbore your block .040".

You can also get custom reground cams for $420 a set and you would want to upgrade the springs. There's also plenty of places that will port/polish the head for a decent price.

There's alot more that can be done, you just gotta shop around.
