E16i

WHat mods can be done to increase power on the e16i engine? I have already added a K&N air filter and put in Bosch Platinum+4's spark plugs+wire set...

you can get an CAI intake done by DG racing... but they`re pricey a lot or you can do it yourself....

next easy thing would be to advance timing (me itsup to) almost 14deg on 94 octane...

i got my flywheel lightened to 14.7 lbs.. can be a little less to....

you could port and polish the head, regrind cam..ect...
those left are not DIY...even the cam...or you can buy those in the nismo catalogue....

14 degrees before top dead center? are you serious? before i try this, what does it accomplish? ill do it if its a good performance gain.

it was there... 14 btdc... as i said in my other post... you MUST run 92 octane fuel into that ... no crap.. it is good !!... be sure you got your car well warmed before putting it there... cuz if you dont youll be fooled by the retard of the cold engine..... like i said, youll be better at 12.... by the way ive run a few (2-3) tanks of fuel before i was sure that crap 89oct was gone... you can get oct booster throu your pep boys probably...

For the performance i have with this quick one ... better accel/less lag from the engine, (a little hp ++) but not much.....lose: a bit of torque at startup (less coefficient of flywheel)

With most engine, you need to combine little tweaks to build on to... lightweigh flywheel + polished TBI + ADV timing... = a bit faster revving... could be much better if i had 10:1 compression but hey!!... it is a good start for me with those thing done... could use lighter internal + balancing (microspecs) would give you higher rev capabilities...all of internal would have to be custom cuz there aint no support on those engine... or not that much... could use higher duration cam/upgraded oil pump... Knife edged crankshaft... and the list could go on and on and on.........

ill be testing some injection mod if no one else ever do this before me...GA16i TBI... but not now!... spring, or next summer...we talk about this one on another thread...

Hope it helped... by the way... timing is always good to test it... feel it by your self... if ur uncomfortable with it, just leave it factory (5-7deg)...

btw timing advance on any N/A engine should be your first concern... its the first step to take for a performance motor even if its just taking it where it belong (factory)... a bad timing sure isnt helping performance.... if you want detune it... retard it a bit... run the car youll see wath i mean....

That's the top "sport" model. 14" wheels, nicer interior, and thicker/stiffer swaybars.

Sway Bar

Take a swaybar off of a n13 SE pulsar. It fits right on and is a big difference. Also, use the strut tower bar off a b13 sentra. It fits too.

Exclamation 411 for the team.

STB from a B13 only fits a B12 (1987-88) if you do not have air conditioning. Otherwise it will perfectly fit 1989-90 B12 models. I have a B13 STB I cannot even use brand new. As for the sway bars remember to get all of the hangers and bolts too.
