Weber Carb and brake booster

I'm putting the Weber carb in as a replacement to my stock carb in an '84 Sentra and I need some advice.

I'm planning to loose all the vacuum lines except for the brake booster. One friend says I can loose the brake booster, another says I need it if I want the brakes to work.

I'm trying to race this car, so I'm with the "brakes are good" camp.

Keep the brake booster - while they will work without it, it's going to require significantly more pedal effort (enough to justify keeping it). What are you doing about vacuum for the ignition?
