transmissions and clutch sizes

Hey all! I'm doing an e15t swap into an '88 Sentra (e16i) in a about a month and I'm trying to put together a parts list. I'm also going to be converting to a manual transmission with a parts donor car- '84 Sentra (RS5F30A tranny ID.)

My questions are how do I determine what clutch size to get- 200,190, or 180mm? Does it depend on the transmission I'll be using, on the motor, on the combination of tranny and motor that the tranny is coming from? What if I were to use a RS5F31A, what clutch size would I use then?

I found this in another thread "The E15T used a 200mm clutch, as opposed to the 180mm clutch for the[B11's] and 190mm for the [B12] cars." This confuses me even more because I thought the n12 (e15t) and b11's used the same transmission- RS5F30A...

HEEELP!

Duh im here !! ... ok as for the flywheel... when i 1st saw the 200mm unit, it kindda blow my mind... they were using the automatic b12 starter on the early n12 NX turbo... so, unless you stick with the auto.. it wont be of no help (if anyone else can confirm this!!)... And, youll be please to know that the 190mm clutch used on your E16 is the same used throu 1999!!... yes it is... you can buy an used performance PP here in the classified for a GA16DE/GA16i, and it will match your 88 flywheel, wich is also a match for the E15t crank... As my friend Blownb310 already told somwhere around... the 31A is the toughest one (heavy duty) i woulnt go with the 30a... but if you got a donor...hummmm... a b11 to b12 ??... i cant help you here maybe blown will know more on the actual "fit or not" of the b11/b12 chassis... Sure thing, if the n12 use the same tranny, i would suggest using the 200mm unit as it will grab a bit more than the 190 or 180....

***** The clutch disc size you will use will depend on what flywheel you are using. The input shaft splines are all the same [180mm,190mm, and 200mm]. The B11 used a 180mm clutch, [RS5F30A]. The B12 used a 190mm clutch [RS5F31A]. The E15ET used a unique and heavier duty 200mm clutch with the RS5F30A trans. But you can't use that 200mm clutch without the correct matching E15ET flywheel. So lets say you are going to use the original flywheel from your '88 Sentra, then use the 190mm clutch. If you've got the original 200mm E15ET flywheel on your E15ET, then you'd have to use the 200mm clutch.

***** They did. But the turbo got a bigger clutch, for the same tranny.
