Nismo cam with stock everything...

Hey, gonna rebuild the peice box, but I wanna know, can I install the Nismo cam that goes for like 180 (270* of duration, I think) This isn't the super hopped up cam, this is just the mild cam that nismo sells... I want to be able to install it and not have it hit it bend a valve, cause it will piss me off.. Stock everything (replacing it with new stuff though) but with the new cam.. and does anyone know it's pull range for torque, I want it to pull to like 4grand or plus.. and does anyone know anything about this cam? Any major HP boosts? Does anyone have a spare one that they want to sell, or want to get rid of... or even a used one?? I'd appreciate inpu

THE Nismo cam will work its actually a euro cam its got a little more kick than a stock one(.342"/242@.358"/242 on the duration side. I have the same cam but i had it reworked by webcam. But its not street friendly. You shoudn't have any problems with valve clearance. but if you do plan on spinning the motor past 6 grand i would recomend the optional valve springs to prevent valve float at high rpm. If u have any more questions hit me back IM known as the E-16 nut where i live.my race motor cost me 7 grand 2 biuld.good luck

What do you mean it's not street friendly? I don't care about passing emissions if that's what you're talking about... or do you mean that it's got a bad idle? What RPM does it pull to do you know? Thanks for you help man!

he must have been talking about the regrind he had done to his euro cam... the thing is below .375lift/270d, you shoulnt need other thing than stock... you have a very mild cam... this nismo cam should get you better response from 2500+ to about 5800rpm : little higher rev capabilities and better mid and high range...

I am finishing the installation of my rebuilt E16i w/ Euro cam. Don't forget to install new rocker arms when you change the cam or you will ruin the new cam due to the wear pattern on the old rocker arms.

The Nismo cam is fine for the street,I was just telling you my cam wasn't street friendly,By telling you its not street friendly means it wont run with the cat and sounds like a worked rotary yes idling problems.

Can I use the street cam with stock valve springs or should I get new ones? I know I have to get new rockers... Oh also, can I use the E15 head with the street cam with stock everything else? ( I'm using E16 pistons) cause I wanted to do that. Also, does anyone know if the E16 had camshaft bearings or jackshaft bearings? I can't find them anywhere, not even the dealer has them... ?! :P

there are no bearing there.... the only thing your need to put it in there should be a gasket that goes between the head and the plate the cam sit.. (behind the timing gear) should be good to change cam seal too (rubber thing into that plate)

Per Nissan, you don't need to change the valve springs for the Euro cam.

One thing to ponder if you decide to use the E15et cylinder head is the smaller combustion chamber will raise the compression to somewhere around 11:1, which is too much for a street engine on pump gas. Milling the pistons or custom pistons would help the situation.

If you change to an E-15t cylinder head you have to change your pistons do to the fact that the injected head boasts new valves which are longer.you have to get a set of euro pistons which have valve reliefs cut into them. But if you are just using the euro cam your o.k.

can I use the 33M head with the euro cam? Cause I'd like to.. Also, can I re-use the old valve springs? Or should I get better ones? And do I need double valve springs? Or can I just use the single stock spring? ^_^
