Well for those of you who want to convert to EFI E16, I encourage you all the way... however.. if you want to pass the emissions inspection in Virginia, I suggest that you don't unless you know an inspector. As of right now, my car won't pass inspection, I'm going to speak to the Director of Emissions Quality on Friday about the EFI conversion, if he says that I can't have it converted to fuel injection then I'm F'd... and if I'm F'd... then I'm going to sell the Fuel injected E16... (the whole car with all it's spare parts as well as the short shifter for the B11 (yes it exists and I made it) If anyone knows any inspectors in Northern Virginia who will let me slide, then I'd like to meet 'em.. cause other wise I'm F'd... I'll let you all know how the meeting goes! If it sucks, then I'll start takin' bids for the car...

Why won't you pass?? Are you failing the visual inspection, or is the car actually a polluting mess?

No, it's just that the emissions system is different from that year car.. its' from a 91, not an 85 anymore so they are flipping (even though it's supposed to be more efficient) I talked to a guy at the DEQ (Dept. of Emiss. Qual.) and they say that in order for this emissions system to work, I need to have the whole motor off of a 91 Sentra (which means I may get a GA16DE powered 85 Sentra) which would be a trip... but they are going to check to see if they can't make an exception so we'll see what happens... They are going to call me back with a reply...

I have no experience with it so I can't say if it really works but....I saw at Orielly auto parts a can of some junk you stick in your gas it it's "Guaranteed" to pass emission.
Of course we don't have emissions tests here in Texas so I have no friggin idea why they sell it here. Unless it's so we can mail it off to states where it's sale/use may be prohibited....dunno

I might be totally off base here, and this might be a 100% long shot, but what about a propane conversion?
Lowest cost conversion out there near as i'm aware, and might as far as the bullshavic goes, but it's very nature it requires something extra on your engine.
Atleast in washington, based on my observations, they don't care what's under your hood, as long as your smoke is within tolerances based of make / model / year of your auto.
