.50 over on a E16 a good idea? What u think?

Hey, just got a set of .050 over pistons with rings for my e16, I wanna make it like a E19.. muahahah! What you think? Safe or not? I heard you could bore .060 over and that was the max... anyone ever tried it?? Dont wanna crack the ol' block..!

blown's engine (the .035 over) is going between 12.5 to 13:1 of compression ratio... i would assume that .050 over would get you as high as 13.7:1 (estimate) that would be way to high for pump gas !.... if you still want to do it, itis possible thou, you would have to increase the cilynder head volume by porting it (grinding inside) to have bigger CC's ... this way youll lower the comp ratio... you could also match this with a costum copper gasket of youre given tichkness to get the correct comp ratio... big math here !!

I think the e-series blocks are pretty strong, because the e15t would require it. Everything Martin said about the comp ratio is true. If you don't lower it, you'll blow the head.

you know wath... an E15et would get as high as 15-16:1 on compression ... the only difference here is that they get good quantity of gas !! ... sure thing thou... an NA car cant take much of this kind of abuse !

With all the above suggestion i made, it would be also a critical point to increase the flow on the intake and exhaust side... costum fuel injection (home made intake manifold corectly sized) and a good header+piping.... cuz the car is not breathing so good on stock... imagine with all that much air needed to fill the cylinder...

Bore it out with the bigger pistons then do the MPFI swap. That should get the fuel in!! Then get a pacesetter header and a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with a free-flow muffler.

Hey hey hye, well I already got the EFI in it and it hauls, and I got the header.. so I'm half way there don't ya think?? Get a thick head gasket and port out the dome a lil' bit.... maybe even take a little outta the dome on the piston.. muahahha.. this thing would be a monster... prolly not very emissions legal but they can suck on it...

***** I am pretty sure that no one offers a .050" over piston for the E-series engine. My guess is, that what you have is a .5mm over piston. That would be .020" over. A 1mm over piston is .040" over. These sizes are available readily from Nissan. My .035" over pistons were custom made by Cosworth, as mentioned earlier in the sticky at the top of this forum.
