Symptoms of bad O2 sensor?

I've been getting absolutely horrible gas mileage, soot, and smelly exhaust for the past few months. Are these common symptoms of a bad O2 sensor or could it be caused by the REALLY cold weather we have been having and my heavy right foot?

Yeah, that's a bad O2 sensor for sure. The gas mileage would be your foot.

and if you need further information, you could always look for a code 33 from the ECU

I'm sure the part of the crappy gas milage is because of me, I drive this car hard. But it has also been getting worse over the last few months. All the oil I have been burning probably fouled the sensor. How much do these things go for? What brand is the best?

they say bosch is the best and one of the most expensive. i paid 60 bucks US for mine.

Sometimes you can find the bosch o2 sensors on sale at places like pepboys.
