Dead cylinder #1 CA-16

I have a CA-16 motor that has a bad miss. Checked by unplugging coils, cylinder #1 is not firing. I swapped coil packs, replaced the ignition module & wire (with the one that was on the original motor...) nothing. Then pulled the plug- looked clean & bright as brand new, not wet, even. So, I thought maybe the issue was the fuel injector, so I changed it out - still nothing. I can put a screwdriver to the injector and hear it clicking so it;s working... I'm at a loss - any ideas? Checked for codes - nothing. Also, ECU gets very hot (hot enough to burn my finger) That has just been replaced as well... May have to give up on it and send it to the scrapheap if I can't resolve this.
