My car was making a bad ticking noise, so after checking the oil and finding it a little low, i added what was nessassary, still ticking, but i could tell that it was head noise, so i took off the valve cover and started poking around. noticed nothing. then i noticed that on one of the rocker arms there was mark like it was hitting somthing, then i looked on the valve cover, and there was a matched mark...chit.. ok...so i started moving the rocker arm, and it moved up and down like a 1/2 inch. none of the other rocker arms moved hardly at all.
This all happened at once, not like over any length of time.
The cam lobe LOOKS ok but i cant tell because its still all assembled.
Any Ideas?

Ok, i figured it out, i was looking at the head again, and two of the 5 bolts that hold down the rocker arms (on that long bar) came loose. i tightened them back up and she purrs again.
Pimp.

Good thing you caught it. That could have easily gone REALLY bad if that rocker had come completely off.
