Blew something on the way to work

My get to work and back beater done threw out something not sure what it was either a cylinder or valve was driving it to work and it started making this high pinging noise i finished gettign to work being my $400 a week paycheck is worth more than my $300 car. After work I looked at the engine and played around a bit the #3 cylinder plug is firing but it has no effect on the engine if the plug is in or out so im assuming thats the problem child of course any ideas as to if its a headgasket valve or burnt out piston?

You're going to have to take the engine apart to see what happend. Hopefully it's not anything to big or expensive.

Your engine is hosed. You may consider the car a $300 car, but that's a $400+ engine... You probably blew the headgasket, but that's a moot point now.

blah, i was going to sell it to the junkyard but they'd only give me $35 for it lol i think ill sell the parts it has new axles/starter/struts im sure i can part that stuff out eventually for more than $35 *cries* now i get to drive my bike in the rain

lucky you to be able to drive a bike in the rain !!...

here its to cold to even be brave enough to fill up the engine !!

it is minus 22 degree celcius here !!

without the wind !! with the wind, it goes down to near minus 40 !!!!!.... i dont know how much degree F it is for you but i can feel my balls getting upper in my pants !!

sorry for your engine anyways.... could be a valve too... feel if there is pressure coming out of the air box, or open up the valve cover....

I think im going to keep the ol' car and give it to my GF she needs a car anyways and her parents are being punks hehe It's either this car for her or a 1979 Volare heh she said she didn't realy want to drive that old boat though so i guess i have no choice. hard part is going to be teaching her how to drive a stick *sighs* we are going to tear down the engine this weekend and see what she looks like might just do a rebuild if need be thanks for the posts =)
