E16s Questions

I've been working on my car, 86 Pulsar NX (canadian) automatic
and well I've been running into problems as of late.

1st problem was a largely noticeable...loud vibration when the car was in drive
and not moving. (same with reverse but not as bad)
So I concluded it was the mounts. Replaced 3/4 (the inside rubbers went to hell) and
it solved the problem....slightly.

Theres still alittle vibration but atleast its not shaking the hell outta my interior lol.
I've had the exhaust system completely replaced and so I know its not that.
Although, isn't there supposed to be a connector which connects the exhaust pipe
and mount? I've since it on a manual transmission NX but it wasn't there on mine.
Also when the car is in gear, the exhaust pipe is not where near any part of the body...
so no vibrations can be transmitted to the car...
I have a feeling its the transmission itself but it still shifts nicely and the tranny oil
doesn't smell of anything "bad"

2nd problem is my junky ass stock E16s carb. I've already found a replacement
aftermarket carb for it, the Weber Redline 32/36 DGEV, and I would like to know
everything there is to know about installation, gaskets...bascially everything to DYI it.

And lastly, my driver side powersteering boot is leaking...should I just reclamp it or
superglue a seal onto it. (unless a power steering additive which seals problem like
this exists, gotta hit up my local parts store though)

Thanks!

Power steering boot, as in the dust boot on the steering rack if torn would need to be replaced. If the metal clamp was loose you could just re-clamp it.

If you used polyurethane engine mounts more vibration would be transfered through than the stock rubber ones. Also make sure you also replaced the front and back "dogbone" type mounts, because 5th gear will eventally go bad if you don't.
