Skipping an entire tooth would be going way too much on cam timing. You'd have to slot the holes in your cam gear and dial it in that way. If you are only shaving the head .008" or less, I wouldn't worry about it anyway. The tensioner will make up that small amount of adjustment easily. If you are thinking of shaving a warped head more than that, I'd get another head. Nissan doesn't recommend cutting E-series heads more than .008". I shaved one once that needed about .020" to get it flat. It was a waste of time. The head was flat alright, but then I couldn't put the cam back in, because the cam journals were so out of alignment. That head ended up hitting the aluminum scrap pile.

That's an excellent resource. But you won't find anything about E-series engines there.

Do you think they would say anything about an intake like this?

I love the sound and the throttle response(Not a huge improvement but every little bit helps you know)

Nice work Stu! I have seen those pics somewhere before. Maybe it was here on Nissanforums. I love the idea with the intake manifold design. When your cam is ground and ready to install, and you have to take off the induction system to install it, I'd send the manifold out to be ceramic coated. It would stop it from rusting, and it would look boss!.

I was thinking about that config but didn't fit under my stock hood...
To get a long intake distance from butterflies to int valves for a ram induction effect
Nice work!

a K&N drop in filter would help a bit.

Yeah I got the K&N when I did that too, only real disadvantage is you have to clean more often because more exposed but it's worth it to me and this didn't cost me anything except what I paid for the filter(around $15).

I can do better than that, when the manifold comes off I'm going to polish it as it is made from stainless. and yes it would be very expensive to have this made but my dad is a stainless welder and fabricator so I got it for free . this sort custom job would cost you about £1000 (roughly $1900) from the company he works for.
