I have been told that my automatic transimission has locked up on me. I have an '87 sentra Hatch with an E16s. I am really interested in replacing the auto with a manual transmission. I know everythign that i will need thanks to Crazymarts post, but i want to know the different vehicles i can swap from. Any information about the transmission in the vehicle would be helpful as well.

You will be able to use any transmission from 1982-1988 Sentra/ Pulsar with E16 engine. The 89 and newer transmission will not fit, because it is from a different engine block.
I swapped from auto to manual in my 89, and it is definatly worth doing. If you have other questions on the swap just Ask.
