Any clue as to how to reset the SENSOR warning light on an '83 Sentra (California model)?? The Haynes manual gives no clue, in fact it barely mentions it. It does mention that the light should go on at 30K miles (it's at 118K now, and the wife has ignored it for ten years or so.) I believe it is for the O2 sensor, but there is no specific mention of this in the manual.
TIA for any help.
There is a trim piece on the drivers side, like with the door open thiers a plastic cover, and if you take this off, you should see a button that you push...
a more accurate location is like right next to the clutch/brake pedal on the left wall of the car.
I Think thier is 2 or 3 phillips head screws holding it in place.

Oh hey, thanks for the tip, I'll have to try that. I woulda thought that light would have gone away with my computer, but go figure, no computer, and that light still stays on. I'll try to find the button.

***** AVERAGE is right, pass side reset button for a B12. LittlebittaContact is also correct, driver's side for the B11 [near the hood release handle]. Except all of the US model B11's I have seen, [California models might be different], have a set of white single wire pull apart connectors to turn off the sensor light. They have little tags on them. If I remember right, one is for 30,000 miles, and the other turns the light off for good. There might have been a third for 60,000 miles, but I don't remember. FWIW, it is only a service reminder light, and has absolutely nothing to do with the O2 sensor. It was a gimmick, to get people to bring the car to the dealer and spend money. They did away with it in '89 [I think].
This is a California B11 model (2 door hatch), and there's no button near the hood release. Will check for the 'pull apart' connectors (under the dash, I assume). Looked under there today, but didn't see anything that looked right.
I know it doesn't have any diagnostic implications, just tired of looking at warning lights on the dash! If I can't find the right wire, the next thought was to just pull the bulb!
Thanks for all the replies!
FWIW, the SENSOR warning disconnect on an '83 Sentra hatchback (California) is a 'pull apart' connector, one wire mint green, the other mint green/black. Pulled it apart - sensor light gone! Yeah!
It was indeed near the hood release, but no kick panel to remove. It was just hanging in a THICK bundle of wires just under the dash.
Thanks for the tips - I'm stoked to finally have found the 'silence of the SENSOR'!
Eric, im glad you got it fixed, like i said, my car dosent have one, so i could only tell you what i had read, and in one of these nissans there is a button stashed behind the kick panel. Good work on fixing though.
