Datsun carb for E16

i've got a B12 with a carb'd E16. i was wondering if it's possible changing to a 210 carb.? what other carbs could be fitted on this engine as direct bolt-on or with minor modification?

which would be better for economy, which for perfomance?

Do you want performance o fuel economy?
Somewhat different goals...

i've always wanted to see what this engine can do, but with gas prices the way they are... i guess economy would be the way to go since we're getting regular gas for about $3.36 and crappy premium at $3.57

but i do want to know what my choices are either way, in case gas prices go down (yeah, right) or i decide to go with performance.

thanx for helping.

the carb off an a-series 210 will fit nearly bolt-for bolt on an EARLY E15/16 (not the chokeless carb version), but it is jetted a little rich. it will run with NGK plugs, but it will load up on fuel pretty bad. the catalytic converter will be junk in about a day (if so equipped).

in order to convert your B12, you'd need the intake from an 82 or 83 B11 E15 or E16. you would also need some new jets.

EDIT: above info is for US market engines. if you have a picture of the carb on your B12, i could tell you if it'd work.
