Ca18de timing advance

Ok i have searched but with little findings on this.
I have already advanced the timing on my 2 ga16de engines.
The question is: Does the ca engine have the same timing mode as the ga engines?

If so is it about the same degress as ga's? *15 BTDC?

I would say no because the GA uses a distributor timing system as the CA is distributorless...using a crank angle sensor for timing.

you can advance it, or retard it by losening the CAS and move it, just as you would a distributor, but dont do it unless you know what you are doing and have proper tools to check the timing. Also, you can get adjustable cam gears, hard to find, i know there s some though, HK$ makes some and i'm sure a few other companies have them out.

Yeah i had to put a water pump on it a few months ago and now i have to put the CAS all the way to the left and the is a rattle now. I dont think it is the belt tensioner because i replaced the it and the water pump with a new belt at the same time. I have not checked timing yet becaus i have now developed a new water leak. i think is is a freeze out plug. Its leaking in the back to the right just under the intake and i cant really see it. I have parked it for now to fix when i can. Thanks for the help.

uh oh, lol, you moved it all the way to the left, try not driving it until you get the timing checked, all i have to say is detonation will destroy the motor if you do
