First off, hello to the members of these forums!

Now, I have an issue. Around 5 years ago (I was 15) my parents had bought me the car (see title). Well due to complications I was never able to get my license, and thus drive the car. So for the duration (asside from starting it twice both withing 3 months of each other in the last 8 months) it's sat in one spot. Well I recently decided I should get my license (a bit late, eh?). The car is in less than optimal condition. It's leaking in various places, paint has peeled, as well as a few other issues. I'm going to start restoring it to proper functioning order, and was wondering if there were any tricks or cheap "mods" I could do in the process to achieve something more than it's rated 69hp (plate under the hood says it's an E16(s)). I'm not going for anything expensive but cheap things. I mean would a cold air intake do better than the air cleaner (or hell running a line from the cleaners intake to the side of my radiator?). Any help or recommendations are welcome.
