SPARK PLUG ADVICE

I am very happy with my "new" $100 1990 Nissan Sentra. I was wondering should I run with platnum plugs or just the regular. I will go NGK either way. It has the GA16I motor, 5 speed, 161,500 miles. Thanks for the advice in advance.

Thanks for the link. However I am not sure if you can apply the ga16de info to the ga16i motor.

How's the oil consumption on it? Does it burn any? I run strictly cheapies in my car...well, slightly better: Bosch plugs. If you have a situation with fouling plugs, it's almost a lateral move as far as plugs go. Try some good plats out and test-bed 'em for us, let us know...thanks!

The oil consumption is not an issue. My friend said it would smoke a little on start-up. So far, I haven't noticed any smoke. It does not leak a drop of oil. It sat in the garage for six months and didn't leave a drip. I didn't believe it at first but when I changed the oil, it was still shiny clean underneath. I can't say that about my Saturn(88,000) or the 200sx(142,000).

Sweet. Try some Bosch plats then?

Big ditto. If nissan recommends NGK or Nippondenso thers a reason for it. I'd go with NGK V-power...or just go full out to NGK Iridiums. But in all honesty the v powers will work perfectly, you wont' have any use for anything more expensive unless you run boost or nitrous

And even then ... id just replace then often... at the price they are ... im running iridiums since like a year and havent replaced them yet ... run just fine even under 20psi ...might be overkill

I used NGK V-power for my slightly modded GA16i and it runs like a champ.
