Resistor? Not that simple...it won't solve anything. You gotta have that sensor with the hot-wire in it. There's a vital reason why...
As I assume you know, the wire is always heated; There's a thermistor (Thermal-sensitive resistor) in the mix which measures the heat of the wire. As the engine demands more air, the oncoming rush cools the wire and the thermistor measures accordingly, signalling to the brain-box. So, it's an ever-changing, real-time process that a resistor cannot substitute for; Ya gotta have the MAF.
Note: Just before installing it, ya need to swipe a layer of silicone grease onto the backside of it...the part that contacts the throttle body. Best of luck!
