hey mansome of us dont live near drift track (i live n miami). the streets is the only place to do it... and thats how it all started in japan.. so it seems only naturral to go that route. dont flame me... back me up guys who dont have tracks any where around!
I think that if you don't know how to drift and you start trying to learn on the streets you're going to hurt yourself or someone else for that matter.. Read up on it first there's tons of sites that has technique and things like that, try some empty parking lots first.. If you are near Cali there's actual classes and stuff that you can take to learn and perfect your technique. It's called Drift Days from what I hear (I have some friends that go) it's a great way to learn how to drift.. but don't try doin it on the street if you don't know what you are doing you'll get yourself and your car hurt badly...
oh and I don't have ANY tracks any where around I'm in southwest virginia we have nothing so don't say that i'm just sayin it cause it's easier to go to the street..

street drifting is seriously dangerous. But if you consider empty parking lots streets, then it's fine i honestly know many people who are somewhat experienced drifters (from the track) that when they try to drift on the streets, they cause damage, either to their cars or to others.
if you're on a budget, i guess get an s13.. if you really want to drift. It just sucks now that so many people are getting em =\ And you should start off with suspension. You can get your intake/exhaust later, after you've had a feel for the power the KA has already

I think you can get a set of used rims with used tires so you can practice..
as you save up and get better you can get , suspension , better rims and tires, comfort items ( seat, shift knob ect ... ), and of course more power.
but put some money in emergancy fund ; I can't tell you how many times I have screwed up and need a emergancy repair ...
