is KYB Adjustable AGX Gas Shocks okay for a little drifting every now and then? i dont drift that much.
or does anyone know of suspension mods that are cheap as hell. ill be searching too, but extra help with this thread will do, too.
A buddy of mine had a set of KYB AGX's along w/ Eibach Sportlines, and he would constantly spinout whenever he would try to drift on this one 90 degree corner. I think he had the settings too stiff. He only ran into that problem on that particular corner though, every other corner was a beautful slide.

yeah those shocks should be good. but if you really want a great set up, try hitting up Tein for the type HE damper kit. designed souly for drifting performance, plus it has the damper matched with the spring to provide a good over-all balance( very important for a drift car) and it has ajustable spring height( 16 way). matched with a viscous LSD and some good tires, you should be able to do very well www.tein.com
cusco strut towers( front and rear). before you do that, sway bars should be a major priority for you. sway bars resist chassis flex up to 6 times as much a strut tower bars. but for cheap, the strut tower bar is the way to go ( around 200.00-450.00) whereas the sway bar kits are more expensive( 339.00 and up)
good sway bars will only run between 200-250, an example, cusco... at least for my s14
tower bars, could also be a bit cheaper then 200... He wasnt really askin about that, but w.e.
... as for suspension, if its only everyonce in a while, the stock suspension would even do
as for those tien HE special drift ones, how would they be different then your average performance suspension?

different spring rates front and rear. higher levels of damping adjustment. thye offer a better balance, lighter weight than the Tein basic for example. the spring rates are specialy calibrated for drifitng( i dont know how). check the tein website for more info www.tein.com as for the sway bars, i based my judgement on the sway bars and suspension peices for my car, which are expensive for front and rear kits ( or maybe its just the supplier). anyways, a good suspension set up, one that is well blanced and adjusted to your driving skills will make drifting easier and mroe fun.
yes lsd is important, but if your drifting around with insane body role and lack of balance then your basically gonna fuck your self sooner or later,
as for tires... well they are expensive and your drifting, so getting damn good tires is a waste of money, at least at a beginer level

LSD, FIRST UPGRADE!!! Even beginners should be running high grip tires in the front.
