Since there is one for FF cars, how about a discussion on AWD drifts...
Just to get started...
How different is the technique for a FR car to drift to a AWD car to drift?

2 Door Sentra?!?!?! WTF... It's a 200SX SE-R
2 Door WRX?!?!? WTF... It's an GC8
If you've been in OT between 1AM and 4AM you have no life
Man, its a lot harder but not impossible. I tried on my Skyline but would always catch traction up front and whip around the corner. Its just better to disable the front wheels and go at it FR. But, thats just my experience. No doubt others have done so as well.
What percentage of power transferred to the front of the car?

yeah, but power over is more like doing a power slide, braking and feint drifts are much more technical and better looking IMO. nether the less, i cant do either. yeah, i drift FF lol( ass drag)

Whats the difference between a power slide and a drift? I'm under the impression that they both use the cars power to KEEP the car going sideways. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

a slide is just that, a slide. not totally controlled. Drifting, the car is in control, the front wheels used to correct and keep it in check. Sliding, all 4 wheels are sliding.
Couldn't you buy a attessa controller to make the skyline RWD when you want it to be?

just curious this is not to be mean at all...i swear but scourge isnt the GTS-T RWD only, if im worng let me, but the GTR is the only AWD skyline, unless you convert your GTS-T to awd, but the GTR does have the attessa control which allows you to chnage the drive line. right? let me know if im wrong
Although i havent actually experienced 4wd drifting myself, from wot i understand the main factor seems to be huge amounts of weight shift is required to break traction. The technique that ive seen most people use seems to be feint motion. The problem generally seems to be is that its difficult to continue the drift to the extent of rwd cars as 4wd gains traction a hell of a lot better. so another factor is power is needed to keep all 4 wheels spinnin. Of course crappy tires always helps
well yea, i cant say that is exactly wot people use as im a rwd drifter not 4wd
Well,
with 4wd you actually drift the car. Meaning you use its momentum to slide the car over the ground. With RWD essentially its a powerslide. You aren't drifting the car since the front tires usually are grabbing the whole time, its just the rears which you are moving around. 4wd drift is much more complicated to do artfully, but easier to do at the racetrack.
i pretty much agree with u about wot u sed apart from the rwd bit. i dont agree that all rwd drifting is a powerslide. essentially power over and pulling the ebrake is basically powersliding but high speed drifting involves four wheel drift, where all four wheels slide. The front tires do not grip with this technique. the front wheels still countersteer but the also slide while steering. essenially this technique allows for crazy entry speeds and not as much countersteering.
but then again, no1 has really got a definition for *drift* so all these arguments are esentially the respected beliefs and opinions of everyone
