you are wrong. Re-read this entire thread. IF you still don't believe what we're saying, the problem isn't us, it's you.

I've owned a Saleen Mustang, and driven a friend's BMW 325e.
Get some rear wheel push, and you'll see what it's all about.

FF drifting is like imitation cheese. You don't know any better until you try the real stuff.

then DON'T CALL IT DRIFTING.

FWD stuff is SLIDING as stated in the title of this thread.

go up to any serious tuners and tell them fwd cars can drift and you'll get laughed away from them.

So your saying just because it handles different it isn't drifting? If FWD's aren't technically drifting they shouldn't be in contest......but I saw a crx in one the other day......that's a little odd in my opinion. Kinda like puttin a Truck in a CAR show.....odd..... anyways, I get what your sayin about the differences in front and rear drive handling through a drift, I used to have a 740 GLE volvo I drifted which was rear wheel drive and now I have a Nissan stanza and if I had the money I'd get a RWD car, but I was handed this car for free because my volvo was wrecked....not drifting at the time mind you..... Personally in my opinion and if you look up the definition of drift it means to slide. And I'm a bit curious...where are you gettin this information that declares that front wheel drives can't drift? Is this your personal opinion or is this coming from the "officials" of the sport? and if so.....I want proof and why do they allow FWD's in the contest if so???

oh yeah, on an extra note, I didn't say it could drift as well as rear wheel drives....I said they could drift...period.....so don't jump all over me about me sayin a front wheel drive can tear up a rear wheel drive in a drift cause I didn't say that, I said FWD's could drift, just not as well......

you don't get the point of this thread. Drifting, by DEFINITION, is the use of RWD power to initiate a powerslide and maintain control in a turn.

you can't do it with FWD. PERIOD. That's the point of this thread, to discuss what FWD cars really do............................OVERSTEER or SLIDE.

The absolute definition of drifting , as in the dictionary:

Main Entry: drift
Date: circa 1600
intransitive senses
1 a : to become driven or carried along (as by a current of water, wind, or air) b : to move or float smoothly and effortlessly
2 a : to move along a line of least resistance b : to move in a random or casual way c : to become carried along subject to no guidance or control <the talk drifted from topic to topic>
3 a : to accumulate in a mass or become piled up in heaps by wind or water b : to become covered with a drift
4 : to vary or deviate from a set course or adjustment
transitive senses
1 a : to cause to be driven in a current b : West : to drive (livestock) slowly especially to allow grazing
2 a : to pile in heaps b : to cover with drifts
- drift·ing·ly /'drif-ti[ng]-lE/ adverb

So therefore it doesn't matter if it's FWD or RWD.

I wonder why I've never come in her before... this is hella funny.

It's like PCs versus Macs... and I have no idea which side I should be on.

I thought this would be a cool thread on the finer techniques of FWD oversteer/slide (or DRIFT if you prefer... who the hell cares WHAT IT IS CALLED)... and for some part it is... but the rest is just depressing.

I don't think you get the point.... Can you give me an actual definition from a credible source....(meaning other than you) that says drifting requires a rwd car. Because in my book....drifting is sliding. Look up the actual def. to drift. Its says nothin about use of the rear end for power regardless of whether its a car or some frickin random object. That's my point, now get it through your head you can't force your opinions on others and make them think that drifting is a rear wheel drive thing!
