Well after all the hassle and money spent on replacing 2 O2 sensors, EGR valve, and knock sensor my car is still acting up and throwing a 0505 code. I am soo sick of all the problems that I have had with my maxima that I am thinking about selling the POS pretty soon. It is really disheartining to me that I am having all these problems, especially after I have babied and taken immaculate care of the car. I have put alot of money into suspension, intake, exhaust, wheels, brakes, and other things but these electronic gremlins just keep surfacing. Maybe I got a lemmon. Dunno? Maybe someone can offer me some moral support because I am really not liking my care very much right now.
Think I might deffect back to VW? The new GTI's that are comming out in 05 are dope ane they have 200hp turbo 2.0 ltr FSI engines that should really be nice. Plus they finally put independant rear suspension on them, as well as 6 spd tranny.
the O2 sensors are going to happen to any car... wear and tear. the EGR happens to all cars that have them and the knock sensor is another 100k+ miles problem...
you're pretty much done. and as jeff said, 0505 means everything is ok. you will always pull that code when nothing is wrong.
keep your head up bro... you still got yourself a good ride.
and every single turbo car VW makes is on CNN Money's Top 10 most unreliable vehicles in the US. don't go to VW... (puke)

Word up. Thanks for the compliments on my car. But damn it sure has been a frusterating thing as of late. I just pulled the code the other day with a scanner and it was a 0400 egr flow problem. Any way I am going to inspect the EGR valve to make sure the gasket is still in place, after I removed it to get the manifold off? It is possible the it may have fallen off and I just didn't notice because its all tucked away by the fire wall.
Dave is the man! Hey dude you still have my break dancin video, thief!!!

the egr gasket missing wont make it throw that code - you're valve is probably shot. I don't have a egr gasket, neither does jarrod, nor thomas so....
