Angry Tools stolen

I get home to eat lunch right and when I'm done I thought I herd something in the garage. I hear things all the time and think nothing of it. Still I go and take a quick look and nothing, or no one more like it. I get back from nissan after getting my MAF replaced and noticed "wham" toolbox is gone, stolen, robbed. Fuckin robbed by some crackhead brokeass. What are the odds that a police report will help?

So.. you think someone sneaked in while you were home for lunch.
Then you left to the Nissan dealership, and when you got back your box was missing? (sorry, just trying to follow what happened)

That sucks.. I would go ahead and file a police report. I doubt you'll get your toolbox back, but you could use that report to show your home owners insurance. They should cover it (unless your deductable is high)

Was it just a toolbox? Or a rolling chest? Either way.. sorry man.

I'm renting so I haven't really made homeowners insurance a priority yet. Dang. It was just a toolbox with 3 drawers but I had over 600 bucks worth of tools. All the big wrenches that are like 20 bucks each, socket sets, compression guages, valve clamps, plyers, etc. Most of it was craftsmen and husky. Fuckin bummer.

Yup, i agree with everything runyun stated. Sorry about your tools but at least you now have same incentive to get some bigger/badder tools. Good luck to you.

file a police report and give very specific details

yeah i filed a police report and I'll have to make a new budget for tools. At least my neighbor has tools still. FYI engrave your initials on your tools!. "There's no way to prove it" to a pawn shop unless it's all pawned together, I already went to the first cash near here. I'm sure they will go to another city, or freakin Barry street. Man they must have really booked it too because I had CD's and jacks other garage stuff all in arms reach. Crazy fuckers

Sorry to get on your case in the OT thread and i'm very sorry to hear about your stolen tools. I myself was having a bad day and that is the only reason I jumped down your throat (that, and I love the twins). Anyways, good luck w/ everything!

Probably the best advice anyone can give. I had some tools stolen recently. Found them in a pawn shop here in town. Filed a report, the police picked the guy up and I now have most everything they stole. Renter's insurance picked up the tab for the rest. (it helps to save receipts to show you had it)

I hope they are dumb enough to pawn them in the sme town they stole'em. As for reciepts, I bought the tools like 5 years ago so I think thats gunna be tough. I'll live and learn unno all my tools will be initialed next time. Plus I'm really looking into a dog for insurance.

Renter's insurance is around 15 bucks a month. Covers fire, flood, theft, etc. Buy it through your car insurance company...It's worth it. If the house burns, it's the only way to get contents replaced...Hope you get your stuff back, too...
