we think it might be the fan doing it. the fan seems to be roaring lately and when we sprayed the fan housing with that squeak-stop stuff for belts, it went away. when we revved it, the sound came back. we sprayed again, it went away. it sounds like a belt slipping, but theres a little bit of a rattle in there too. i think i might make a run to a junkyard and look for some stanza fans or altima fans.

ii hit up the junkyard and i found a few what looked like dual 12", but they might have been smaller. i'll prolly get a single big one, cause it wil fit better. and they cost like $35, dont know how much for a double. its also easier to wire a single, at least for the electrically illiterate like me. and yeah, its RWD so the damn fan is run of the PS belt. i can move the fan with almost no resistance by hand, so i think the clutch is pretty dead.

if you're gonna wire one, you might as well wire two... really not much extra work, and if your gonna get one just because of the fan shroud, you'll be removing that anyway

i'm thinkin two would be better simply because of the fact that 2 12" can move a lot more air than one 14" or 13"
