Unhappy Question regarding strange noise
Hey I just noticed this morning that I have strange noise coming from (I think) my driver side, front wheel area somewhere..

It sounds like a screeching sound, it has nothing to do with me breakign or not, its there.. I am wondering if anyone may have an idea what it is?

Look at the brake pads. If you have been workin up there make sure the backing plate didn't get bent and is rubbing the rotor.

Ok.. I narrowed the noise down some more while driving to work this morning..
It seems to be VERY loud and whiny noise when I go in REVERSE, and I am not using breaks at all..

When I go forward its more of a quiet rubbing metal noise kinda.. almost like a whistle.

But when I go in reverse its a lot louder. Again, it seems to be coming from left front wheel area..
I also think I heard a slight "knock" there a few times..

It's probably a brake wear indicator. It squeals so you know it's about time for your brakes to be replaced.
