North Dallas salvage-junk yards?

Has anyone been to local salvage yards in the north dallas area? If so, do you know of any that possibly have late model sentras? It's been more than 10 years since I've been to one and that was up in Lewisville off 121.

It's a secret!

Nope, I'm looking for a set of base se-r struts and MMs from an ser or gxe. The struts thing is driving me madd and I refuse to put cartridges in the front. The ser struts are supposed to be stiffer although I can't locate any credible info about this. It's probably a wild shot, but it's far cheaper than a set of jics or teins. The MMs would be nice to have so I can fill them offline.

No you have to cut the front strut to put the insert in.

Yea, I'll check with them and ask about the strut prices also. But I'm experimenting with those, so want to keep cost way down.

I also think it's fun to go tear apart cars that are not your own.

Ripping the guts out is bad, but the smaller size of the cartridge concerns me more. Plus there no bargain at $160/each considering all the damn work involved to install them.

Your probably right, so I'm looking for sentra qr25s. There has to be some wrecked ones out there by now? It's been 1 1/2 yrs. What do they do with total'd cars, besides auction them?

I was under the assumption that the SpecV was the only sentra to have the QR25 in it...?

And what the hell.. you have to cut the strut to get the cartridge out... how gay! The 3rd gen max uses cartridge replacements for its rear struts (last mod meet) and there was just a screw on top that held the cartridge in the strut tower.

I'm just going by what the others have said on b15sentra.net, so no confirmation yet. I thought it was strange also. My old RX-7 was cartridge I believe and I did the same unscrew and replace. I hope this is the case. The rears are a direct replacement. The 2002+ SE-R and SE-R spec-v, and GXE have the QR25 in it. That's what the FSM says. The only two engines out now are the QG18DE and QR25DE.

I don't think any sentra has the qr25 in it except the limited 2.5 sentra, se-r, se-r specV.

Right. I got the gxe confused. The LE auto has a qr25 in it. But the se-r has two models, the manual and auto and the guy at courtesy said several struts are listed in the directory. I need to go up there because the guy I spoke to did not understand why I wanted a different strut. I wish I could locate someone at Nissan that knew the damping rates on these cars????

The MMs are around $75 for F/B. That's too much, so I will fill the mounts and leave the car for 24 hours.

I'd leave them for about 2 days to cure just to make sure it is good and hard.
