Question How to secure the subs??

How can I secure my sub box so it doesnt move around.
I seen what Joffe did in that guy's white maxima 2 weeks ago by putting a wood floor board and L brackets.
Is there another way to do it so there is still access to the spare?

How do they make those custom boxes fit so snug and not move??

Please advise.
Thanks

I've never seen double sided tape that'll hold 100 lbs secure in a car..... any brand you're talking about Jeff?

Here is how I did mine.

I used Velcro at first and it held OK. Then I decided to use the L Brackets. I still have full access to my spare with the hinges though.

Steve (I think) did it for his box...but I don't think it's 100lbs.
...and I don't think Alex's box weighs 100lbs either.

and it was only a suggestion

I used the rear mat as a template and started cutting. I used a jigsaw for most of the cuts and a Skilsaw for the middle cut. It was fairly easy. If your mat is not a good template, cardboard works well. the a utility knife to cut the cardboard to fit. then you have a template to use for your wood.

I used 1/2" MDF from Lowes.

30 minutes to an hour. A jigsaw is very easy. the hard part was getting the template. With the 2k2, my trunk is very uneven. It made it a total pain. One good thing is that my trunk carpet sits on top. Therefore it does not have to be perfect.

Remember to make the cut bigger. You can always go smaller.
