The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced today that American Products Company (APC) has agreed to pay a $650,000 civil penalty as a result of its manufacture, certification, and sale of replacement lamps that did not comply with federal safety standards.
Just thought some of you may find this funny...

My clears still have orange bulbs behind them.
Its just not orange tinted.
I'm talking about the first gen clears that
were before all the "Altezza" stuff. Those
were just plain clear plastic or acrillyc (sp).
as long as you have side markers, orange bulbs in the turn signals, and no colors except amber, and red in the rear along with a sidemarker, you're legal.

You are wrong about the rears for sure. Legally there must be a red reflector. During the day, your lights do not shine red. therefore, it is illegal. I know that is the case on the 5th Gens because our tail lights do not wrap around to the side of the car. If the 4th gens do then it is legal.

I know you need a red reflector in the sidemarker.... sorry if it wasn't crystal clear for ya....
The 4th gens have a red sidemarker that is encased in the bottem portion of the taillight housing as well.
Now I am pretty sure that the clear fronts are illegal as well. You are supposed to have an orange reflector on the front of your car. when you change out your fronts to clears, that goes away. Atleast my Hids still have the orange on the front.

Yes, the APC clear corners that I bought for my SE-R
3 years ago are illegal as heck, but do you think I've
ever been pulled over for them?
