I wouldn't know a 3rd gen from Greek, but I do know it isn't good to use stock struts with lowering springs. They get worn out quick.

If you lower more than 2" definitly get new struts. You might be alright, but I don't know how good the stock 3rd gen struts are. I've got a 1.5"/1.3" and i'm on stock struts and still ridin smooth.

Check the ORG amigo... that's all I can say.

You definately will not rub.

As far as struts go.... anytime you lower, get aftermarket struts... the ride may not be extremely bad like bluebob's isn't... but the strut cannot handle the rebound of the new spring rate. It's definately in your best interest to get new struts because otherwise you'll be paying for the same job twice.

New struts can be had for 300ish + shipping... check out www.shox.com and use the maxima.org discount
