I was just out driving around the neighborhood this morning and check out what I noticed sitting in someone's driveway! I stopped and asked this lady that was standing outside with a lawnmower... she said it was her ex-boyfriends, he went to prison in 2001, got killed in prison... and she has no idea where the title is... I highly doubt I'll have much trouble getting one. she said she does want it gone off her property, I said " what would it take to get it outta your yard and into my possesion? " she said " go get your truck " hehehehehehehehe goes to show you never know til' you ask!! she explained to me that she likes the fact I am gonna do something with it, and that she liked my maxima lol. I know the thing is in rough shape, but, I don't want it to sit there and rot...AND FOR FREE? OMG HELL YEAH the lady said it was parked cause the radiator was leaking and the clutch was out, crazy how people just " throw away " things with so much character....

turns out, it's a nissan / datsun 200sx. from what I've gathered, it should have an L20E 4cyl. under the hood, 5mt, AND RWD (mini-me L24E, like my max) didn't get a chance to pop the hood on it, going back tonight to pick it up.... not exactly sure of the year, lady don't remember either... I'm saying 82' or 83' maybe as late as an 85' at the most, as 86' was way different... the body on this thing is UBER straight, it has a little surface rust, but I looked under it and it's all there, complete, stock, no major rust, and the odometer is sitting @ 67k
when I get it going, would this be welcome at a DNE meet? haha

I love your spontanious mod ideas JP! lolololol I'm thinking paint it black, drop it, some zero offset meshies, get a clutch in it, interior work, and rebuild that L20 with some SU's and a big cam

and yeah, I've learned it's got a z20e in it, plenty of potential w/ what it's got. I'm thinking of finding a pair of SU's and converting it to carb vs. "e" fuel injection... just think how cool it will sound..
crazy thing is, it has a 02/82 build date on the manufacture tag, if you remember, thats' the same as my maxima! WTF?! and my b-day is 02/87?!!!! I'M FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW. 9-9-09, this is a awesome but strange day!
I got it home tonight, dropped the fuel tank, mega dirty, pump looks fouled, got a clutch on order already, mounted the maxima 14's on it, shifter moves around freely and feels cool, the interior is trashed, hooked a battery up to it and all the lights work, cept' a tail... and I think the odometer is actually on 167k, going through some papers from bankston service dept. from 96' when it had 148k on it... but shit, I'm reading about z20e's lasting 290k, I'm planning on rebuilding this one anyways, the suspesion is stiff and the rubber bushings look better than the ones on my max lol

not for sale, sorry. the thought of re-selling for a quick buck passed my mind... but the lady gave it to me cause she thought I liked it, and cause she saw my maxima and assumed I have alot of time and work in it and thought I would do the same to the 200sx, so, however tempting it is, I can't.... and besides, I'mma like having twins, the gangster sedan and the gangster coupe (pretty much what they are) hahaha
oh and the only motor that came in these in 82-83 was a Z22E. which is even better news. it's a DOHC, twin plug, fuel injected, 20-valve, dual coil, n/a motor with a C/R of something like 4.5 / 1 . say that ten times fast! lol
