whats involved for shaving body lines?

I have a 94 sentra. I am planning on having sum weekend kind of work for the car such as shaving the body lines. I was told that i need to weld on a piece of sheet metal to cover the lines then sand, etc. I was also told that i can just fill in the lines with bondo body filler and smooth it then paint. What exactly do i have to take in order to do this? Also can i fill in the grooves in my doors from where the moldings are with bondo since they are small grooves? Thanx

Weld it. Filling with Bondo is guaranteed to crack.

Use All Metal body filler or fiberglass filler. It won't last until the end of time, but it should last a few years. Use an air file to sand it down and coat it with a heavy coat of primer surfacer then block it. I have bondo 1/2 in thick that hasn't cracked or fallen off in 10 yrs on one of my cars, so it can last! I foyu plan on keeping the car until the end of time, its' not the best thing, but it is how I'd solve the problem as the lines are not too deep. Welding presents it's own problems and can warp the thin metal Nissan uses in their cars.Leading is another solution, but good luck doing it right as a first timer! If it is less than 1/4 in deep, Bondo may outlast the car, so why not try it?
