Tail light strobes

I just put some strobe lights inside my tail light houseing and I hooked it up to a power source that is connected directly to the battery. The strobes have a on off switch but I am wondering if when it is off will it be taking power from the battery and maybe drain it when car is off or am I over reacting?

Thanks

If the strobe is not on, why would it be using power?

I just wanted to make sure. Someone told me that I need to put a fuse in the wires and do all this other stuff or my battery would die. I was just makeing sure that that wasn't true.

There is no need for a fuse unless the install instructions calls for one... but it can't hurt as long as it's enough for the product to run...

I fuse all my stuff just to be safe... I didn't fuse some stuff on my 1969 VW Westfalia and had 2 electrical fires...

Now like in my car when you work for the fire deptartment you need to fuse the line to your power supply (a converter box for running many strobes) I got strobes in my headlights and tail lights and a couple in the rear window and one in the front window. You need to fuse something like that. (Yes anyone who is wondering it is quite a sight going in the ghetto with all those babies going)
