Questions about a Paint Job

hey everyone,

i was thinking about getting a new paint job for my Pulsar since the previous owner didn't take care of it, and i had a couple questions...

What i was wondering was this: since there is a rust spot on the lower back end of the car, i'd have to get that patched up and then smoothed out right? and then, before i go to a paint shop, Do i have to make sure the car is all smooth? Do i need to take it to body shop first and then to a paint place?
and my last question, for all you people who've gotten they're cars painted brand spanking new..how much did it cost you? i don't know how much this is gonna cost me and i know nothing about pricing when it comes to a paint job.
thanks for any and all help!!

Yes, taking it to the body shop after getting it painted would be lame...

^ LOL!!!

You should take it to the body shop first. Then get it painted. Why dont you take it to a shop that will do both?
