How many people have tried to polish the cam cover on their own? I have proceded to remove all of the paint, I am ready to use the wheels on it. What should I do first? Sand the thing until it is smooth to get the roughness scratches out? What polishing wheels and rouge do you use and steps to complete it. Anybody who has done this, please let me know how you accomplished it!
Thanks for your help

Wow, I started to sand out the pits in the metal. What a bitch. I will need to get some grinding wheels, but I have a Die-grinder with polishing tips. I am going to plastic off the garage. Did you see that he got oily dust everywhere!

take it to an alternator shop and have them sandblast it
they'll need to sandblast everything and you're going to need to get all new rubber gaskets so go ahead and tell them to do the entire thing
they'll probably charge you $10
After that you're on your own lol
I tried doing this one time, and all i know is it takes hours upon hours of polishing. I've put about 3 hours into one i have and its not even shining very much yet

That's why you take ot to a shop that specilizes in polishing... normally less than $100... worth every penny... no mess, endless hours of work, supplies...etc.etc..etc....
