getting the lenses off

I searched but I guess i'm not too good at it cuz it kept comming up "no matches" I just need to know how long I need to bake my headlights at what tempurature in order to soften the glue that hold the lenses on. Also the same things for doing the corners, i'm working on a project, getting rid of my headlight covers. If anyone has a write up / how to type of thing for this that would be VERY helpful.

thanks alot eveyrone.

15-20 minutes, at 200 degrees... the lense will come off, but you will have to use a flathead screwdriver to pry it off..

to be safe i usually use a lower temperature (150-170ºF) for about 15 min for the headlights, 12 min for the corners...make sure u take the rubber hosing off b4 u start baking. i recommend using an old butter knife to pry it off since using the flathead screwdriver can damage the assembly/lens more easily..

and that glue holding the housign & lens together is very sticky and will stick to anything it touches so be careful when ur seperating it b/c u might get strands on the housing that are almost impossible to get out. save as much of it as possible and use some type of clear sealant (silicone?) when u put it back together (i used sum loctite stik&seal stuff,...dunno if this truly works but its better than nothing) so your headlights dont condensate inside

I agree with 1997GA16DE (thats a long name to type man )
I did mine in increments too, just pry it up a little at a time and pop it back in the oven.

finished the corners...look great...I did them in incriments too, I just kept pulling them up little by little, and heating and pulling till they came off. I'll do the headlights tommorow, maybe when my hand heals up a little bit and I can actually use it properly.

thanx for the help everyone.
