i would say the factory hubcaps for a b14 sentra. a lot of tiny nooks and crannies to get into. the rims i got now get dirty easy but are super easy to clean. i mean just using a dry paper towel will get them "decent" and the same soap i washed my car in and water will get them "show-off" clean.

yup that because they are new right? if you want it to stay that way wax them often, or at least everytime you wax your car or the brake dust will start to burn into the paint because there is no protective layer
i actually wax them more than the car. i only had them for 2.5 weeks and they have been wax twice already. i'm thinking about getting this wax made just for waxing wheels at justforwheels.com but i wonder if its any better than regular car wax.

it might resist the metal more... brake dust is tiny grains of metal that, over time, eat into and establish roots int o your paint or wheels... the iron oxidizes(rust) and goes IN, causing brake dust to be "burned" in and stain...the higher the metal in the pads the worse the problem... look at the front wheels of any ford product, ford mercury and jaguar being the worst, but volvo, lincoln and land rover are bad too... the wheels are almost always BLACK, ive seen mountaneers from the dealer stained before they were sold(we do a lot of lincolns and mercurys for the dealer next door) its ridiculous...

One specefic car which has enough brake dust to make me want to pull my hair out...the Mazda RX-8...my god when i first saw the front wheels i thought they were painted black.
my worst is the people with jags and volvos who clean thier car once a year.... they come to me, drop 100 bucks then balk when the wheels arent clean... I gotta tell them i can clean a lot, but damage is damage... run your car through a car wash more then one a year and that wont happen...

I had a mercedes guy ask why his wheels looked like crap. He cleaned the car but neglected the wheels so badley the clearcoat and the paint was literally disolving!
man. if no cleaning product can clean your set of wheels, why not water blast them?
just kidding. man. that's a tough one. try asking professional detailers how they do it.
ummm that would be me and zac... and some wheels are beyond repair...
werd. if people let their wheels get too crappy and never clean them, their only option is to get them repainted or buy new ones. clearcoated wheels just like clearcoated cars need maintenence, and if you neglect to maintain, their are consequences.

I got mines used and it was really dirty already. I got them for $100 with potenza re71 tires. It was good tires for the tracks but now the tires are bald. The old owner takes it autocross and i dont think he cleans it. Im taking out the tires of the dirty rims since its bald (damn it was hard moving on the snow). Im going to let the rims soak over nite with water and 2 gallons of simple green. It should work, but if it doesnt im gettin new rims.

if it dosent work, simply repaint them, what do they look like? do you like them or are you simply trying to find any reason to get rid of them works like a charm
