Mr. Clean carwash system....eh...

Okay....since this is about car care, I figured I would give yall a little review on this system.

The MR. CLEAN carwash system. It's supposed to be like the do-it-yourself carwash places. WELL, it SORTA is. I've used it 3 times and it doesn't really do a damn thing other than leave MORE waterspots on my car.

It's a great way to spread the soap. BUT you'll still have to use a sponge and scrub a little bit. AND the little "no spot rinse"....UH.....NO!

So save your money and use the old bucket, sponge and hose.

Just my little 2 cents.

I think the key to that idea is the water softener.. which is supposed to make it "Spot Free". Guess it would depend on the area you live in.. some places have harder water than others..

thanks for the mini review... !!!!!

Yea, it has to be your water because I couldn't be happier with the way it works on my car.

I posted my review a while back. At first I was thrilled, but after about the 4th wash, water spots began to appear. I was pissed because: 1) I was hungover, 2) It was 100 degrees outside, 3) Took me about an hour and a half to do both cars, 4) The filter is supposed to last about 9 washes. The windows were all glazed and the rest of the car looked just as bad. Good thing I don't have a black car!!

Anyway, I think you need to buy a new filter as soon as you start getting water spots.

I think I'll do the same and stick to washing it the old fashioned way. I usually just dry my car with the Absorber anyway.

No, this is probably not good for your car. Just because they claim it doesn't strip wax and one magazine declares it is effective doesn't mean little of anything. By what people have described, it seems to eat the wax and a car washed with this does not have the smooth as glass feel afterwards. If after 4 washes it no longer dries streak free, something could possibly be wrong... Wash normally and use a California Silicon blade...that is usually the best way to go. If you live in a hot climate, wash and prepare for streak marks and then spend 5 minutes with Meguiar's Quick Detailer.

I've been reluctant to actually try this stuff. ive read a few opinions on it, and have heard the good and bad, and it doesnt interest me.

I'm gonna stick to my Mothers Car Wash Solution, as it smells good, leaves no streaks or waterspots, and makes it look like i waxed my car, when i haven't yet. Oh, and it smells really good.

Only problem Ive noticed is when the filter is bad. The first filter is only good for around 3 washes and the replacement filter around 8. My dad uses it and I do to

I don't think I would use it on my show car.

Can you just use the filter, and my own soap?

That might be an option......

Looks like mixed reviews for this thing. I'm gonna steer clear of this, don't like that you have to keep buying filters to use it effectively.....I got enough car care products to buy every couple weeks...

It isn't supposed to be a replacement for a real car wash. Just a quick fix. All the reviews I've read said it doesn't compare to a real detail job. But for people who just want a clean looking car it's a good deal. For real car people who want that high gloss shine, obviously they need elbow grease and 7 products. But if you drove your minivan in the dirt and want to just hose it clean, the mr. clean is perfect for you.
