Most of my perfromance parts I've ordered from the states. I've received the same part here from the states, delivered with duty and everything, for less than I've been quoted at local shops.

Have you try any local junk yard??? They should have a tranny for you. If not you can try to contact you local dealership and ask them if they have a used one (you never know). Or you can call any junk yard in Quebec, they wil be able to locate one for you!

We bought 2 base model Sentra's back in 1995 (1995 1.6L Sentra B13 where Automatic Trans. is the only option) when we traded in the Quest GLE. It's nice to know that the B13 was carried over through 1996 in Canada, although the Sedan model changed in 1995 like in the US.

Anyway, the cars always seemed nice, nothing too flashy and they had better interior and exterior stylings than other cars at that time and made years after. It wasn't until last year (2001) when I got my licence I fell in love with the car. Reading so much from Sentra.net and a few forums made me realize how much potential the B13 with a GA16DE engine has. I read one guy in the US has 450,000 miles(758,700 Kms) on his car which is impressive on a GA16 engine. They were made to last as long as they do but only if you take care of them. Both our cars were neglected with oil changes above and beyond 10,000 Kms and with 190K and 197K on my car, neither one have ever had the transaxel fluid changed. My father's attitude, Don't change it, just replace the transaxel when it breaks. That kind of remark makes me sick. They expect the cars to last for ever but not have to service them...total ignorance. Since they are giving me one Sentra, I'm going to fix all the damage my 3 brother's, sister and their friends did to the car and add a few $1000 worth of engine and exhaust mods to it, a new paint job and perhaps a set of wheels if I can ever aford them.

If you guys think it's hard finding parts where you live since you are connected to the rest of Canada and are only a few hours drive from the US, try living in Newfoundland. Not only are there fewer Sentra's, but finding parts locally is often impossible. I would like a SR20DE engine to swap but finding one is another matter. If I lived in NB, NS or other boader provinces in Canada it would be so easy to buy a SE-R to swap the motor. I see SE-R's sell for $500 in some cases due to accidents. Even $2000 for a good condition SE-R is worth it. Perhaps it would be easier just to find a seller for the SR20DE engine, wiring harness, ECU, engine mounts, intake, etc. but I have to say living in mainland Canada or the contiguous provinces has a major advantage. If I wanted the same parts or a full car I'd either have to fly to the US or have it shipped, then ferried across to NF and delivered to me. The overall cost would be a extra $1000 or more compared to you guys/gals. You have it much easier and I'd take advantage of it. Yes I know it's still hard to find parts for our little B13's compared to the Honda clones or J-bodies but living in Mainland NA has an advantage for sure!
